Zar Electrik is a trio from Marseille, active on the Mediterranean scene. Anass Zine's bewitching voice with it's North African influences, accompanied by traditional instruments such as the oud and the gumbri, blends subtly with Arthur Péneau's deep voice. The latter introduces his hybrid African influences through his kora, which he mystifies with electric effects. Composer and producer Did Miosine adds the finishing touch. He brings his knowledge and mastery of machines, synthesizers and the codes of electronic music. The synthesis is explosive. The three of them create a rich and generous music, a journey between the Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa and the West.Following the success of their first album, Hawa, which featured six tracks of festive communion, the band have unveiled the first extract from their forthcoming album, due for release on 11 April 2025.
