One of the founding groups that came to be identified with the smooth sound of Philly Soul, the Delfonics, led by brothers William and Wilbert Hart, were extremely popular in the late 1960's and early 1970's with a string of chart-topping hits including "La-La (Means I Love You)", "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)", "Break Your Promise," "I'm Sorry," and "Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)" - songs that were all written by producer/songwriter Thom Bell and founder William Hart. The songs have all become some of the most popular songs in soul music history and have been covered by numerous artists including Aretha Franklin, the Jackson 5 and Prince, to name a few. Featured here is original singer Wilbert Hart performing the Delfonics' 1968 hit "La-La (Means I Love You)." Also included is a bonus instrumental version.
