Brazilian pianist and organist Walter Wanderley is featured here on this ultra rare album, originally released in 1977 with very limited distribution. Wanderley gained notoriety in Brazil in the 1960's with his own group Walter Wanderley e Seu Conjunto, and wrote arrangements for Joao Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim whose tunes he recorded. On "The Return Of The Original," Wanderley runs through a variety of Brazilian standards and other material including a bossa nova rendition of Burt Bacharach's "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." Musicians featured are Walter Wanderley (Hammond organ; piano; electric harpsichord); Jose Marino (bass); Claudio Slon (drums, percussion); Lulu Ferreira (percussion). All selections have been newly remastered.
