Walter Etc.'s third LP, "There There", is the sound of folk punk reaching maturity. While still showcasing the clever and honest lyricism of their previous project, Walter Mitty and His Makeshift Orchestra, the band now exchanges the maniacal genre-hopping of their first two LP's for a more streamlined and cohesive sound. "There There" is punk in ethos, but it's critiques of capitalism and it's musings on mental health are communicated in a laid-back California style, ripe with imagery and subtle humor. It's a massage for the mind as much for the ears, and the charming blend of intellect and groove forms a cocktail that can only be served by Walter Etc
