A dynamic soul and blues singer who started out as a gospel singer in his teens, and who, for a short time, sang with the legendary Swan Silvertones, Vernon Garrett became a soul singer who had a prolific career up until the dawn of the 21st century; with his last album released in 2009. Vernon started performing as a solo artist - first with his wife Jewel, releasing several singles for Kent throughout the 60's. After Jewel's untimely death, he returned as a solo artist, releasing his first full length album in 1975, and scored his first national chart hit in 1977 with "I'm At The Crossroads.
