Formed in 1991, Druha Trava is one of the most awarded and acclimed international bluegrass bands and is fast becoming one of the most popular bands on the the U.S. bluegrass circuit. Peter Rowan's career in bluegrass has spanned the past three decades. Perfomring since 1956, Rowan was a member of the legendary Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys from 1964 until 1967 when he joined with mandolinist David Grisman to form the band Earth Opera. Rowan became an admirer of Druha Trava when he heard them play at the International Bluess Music Association covention in the early 90s. New Freedom Bell is the first recording of this collaboration between these two bluegrass artists who are legends in their respective countries.
