Tracy Nelson and her band Mother Earth mixed R&B, country, folk and rock in the late '60s and '70s; a decidedly straight forward style miles removed from most of the acts of the era. This "best of" draws together 17 cuts from the band's Mercury and Reprise catalogs and features the seminal "Down So Low" (later recorded by Linda Ronstadt, Etta James and Maria Muldaur). The package contains a personal appreciation from Al Kooper and extensive historical essay.
