While known as a great Swing band, San Francisco favorites Tin Cup Serenade is deeply rooted in the blues, and draws from Ragtime, New Orleans Jazz, Mariachi, Calypso, Mento and Western Swing also. Guitarist/vocalist Rolf Wilkinson fronts Tin Cup Serenade with a relaxed croon that is maudlin and elegant, combining elements of Billy Holiday, Chet Baker, and Hank Williams. This debut CD features mostly his original compositions, and provides a showcase of their unique and timeless sound. Featuring some of the finer seasoned Jazz musicians in the bay area, including Safa Shokrai on bass, Pete Cornell on saxophones, Larry Leight on slide trombone, Lech Wierzynski on trumpet, Raynier Jacildo on piano, and Adam Goodhue on drums. Tin Cup Serenade currently plays every Wednesday at the bamboo room of Le Colonial Restaurant in San Francisco, plus Amnesia and Mama Toby's Revolution Cafe in the Mission District regularly as well.
