Upon the 1977 issue of Standing Up For Love, The Three Degrees (then comprised of Sheila Ferguson, Valerie Holiday and Helen Scott, who had returned to the fold after ten years to replace Fayette Pinkney) were at a transitional point in their then fourteen year old career. Leaving the Philadelphia International label after a two year hot streak under circumstances that were never made public their fourth American studio album would be their only release for CBS/Epic, as well as a showcase for some of the most diverse material that the trio would ever record.
