Like a prophecy, With The Beatles, opens on the song “It Won’t Be Long.” It wasn’t. By the closing months of 1963, the band’s American label, Capitol Records, finally realized what it was sitting on. It released “I Want to Hold Your Hand” with “I Saw Her Standing There” on the B-Side, igniting Beatlemania in America. The single would hit Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on February 1, 1964. Eight days later John, Paul, George, and Ringo made their first appearance on TV’s The Ed Sullivan Show. From that point forward, an entire generation was “with the Beatles.” And they’ve remained by their side ever since—60 years and counting.
