In the fall of '78, Heartbreakers Johnny Thunders, Billy Rath and Walter Lure found themselves in NYC and decided to do a couple of gigs at Max's Kansas City. The resulting album was issued in 1979 on the Max's label in the US and Beggars Banquet in the UK. The next year Max's decided to record a Volume 2 but it wasn't released, appearing only briefly in the mid-90s. Now both are on CD & LP.
