When it comes to music, we are a lively Scottish band of four with ties to either Scotland, Ireland, Wales or Canada. Our music flows from upbeat tunes to ballads and from traditional poets to contemporary composers. With a name taken from a 17th century band of Scottish gypsy troublemakers, we are the Gillie Wheesels. Our level of musicianship shows through in the harmonies and arrangements of songs that others call old and traditional. When you have a diverse group of musical backgrounds ranging from reggae to classical, the flavor is going to be different. It's that difference that people have responded to and anxiously waited for the release of this album.
