Amorica. landed in 1994 as the Black Crowes at their most unapologetically Southern and psychedelic, a record that polarized radio programmers while cementing the band's reputation among fans who followed them show to show. The Robinson brothers have returned to the original production masters with Drakoulias to give this era its proper due, pulling in lost session material and the scrapped Tall album that die-hards have been chasing for decades.
The Black Crowes have collected the Amorica. era recordings 1992-1994 into a new box set. The reissue has been overseen by band founders and brothers Chris and Rich Robinson along with acclaimed producer and friend of the Crowes, George Drakoulias.
The 5LP box set includes:
LP1-2: A newly remastered 2LP 180g pressing Amorica. sourced from the original 1/4" production master tapes. The album audio is across the first 3 sides. Side D includes 3 Amorica. era bonus tracks: Chevrolet (Taj Mahal cover), "Song of the Flesh" (2025 Mix), and the instrumental "Sunday Night Buttermilk Waltz” (2025 Mix).
LP3: Tallest fixes the stories behind the lost/scrapped album Tall and the mish-mashed Lost Crowes version of Tall.
LP4: Marie Laveau Sessions collects an incredible recording session by the band from October 1992.
LP5: Live at AIR Studios, London, UK, October 25, 1994 is a 10" featuring 4 live songs aired on the worldwide radio broadcast of Amorica.
