Andreas Tarkmann is one of the leading arrangers of our time. He has won numerous awards and collaborated with Placido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Albrecht Mayer and James Galway. However, he also appears as a composer, especially in the field of children's and young people's audiences. He frequently puts Hans Christian Andersen stories to music and presents stunning family-oriented concerts. On this recording his two works for children "Zwerg Nase" (Gnome Nose) and "Das kalte Herz" (The cold heart) are presented by narrator Juri Tetzlaff and the Duisburger Philharmoniker under Christoph Breidler. Andreas Tarkmann is currently a professor at the Mannheim College of Music where he teaches instrumentation and arrangement.
