Dayton, Ohio's Slave, among the most influential hardcore funk bands of the '70s-'80s, unleashed many gifted musicians, most notably lead singer/drummer Steve Arrington. After Slave's 6th album, Arrington split and formed Hall of Fame. Originally released in '83, their Atlantic debut album presented a visceral, jazz-inflected funk style. This release contains the original LP's 8 tracks, plus 4 bonus cuts including 2 unreleased tracks. Present Tonight Show bandleader Kevin Eubanks plays guitar and bass on the sessions.
