Pioneers of rhythm and Blues vocal harmony, the highly influential Orioles with lead Singer Sonny Till were the first African-American vocal group to target a young African-American audience. The group debuted in 1948, and their second single, the ballad "It's Too Soon to Know", went to number 1 on the R&B charts in late 1948. Presented here is a rare mid 1970's recording of Til and the reformed group performing their biggest hits, including "It's Too Soon to Know" and "Crying in the Chapel." the group at this time consisted of Sonny Til (vocals); George Holmes (bass vocals, bass); Pepi Grant (baritone vocals, piano); Roy Porter (drums) and Cliff White (guitar). All selections newly remastered.
