The Wonder Boy Preacher, as Solomon Burke has been known since childhood, is considered by many to be the "King of Rock & Soul," and he was an important early soul pioneer. On his 1960s singles, he brought a country influence into R&B with emotional phrasing and intricately constructed, melodic ballads and mid-tempo songs. This 13 track CD contains songs mostly recorded in 1979 intended for release on MCA, but they never came out. Not all of the songs were recorded in 1979 - the CD also contains some older tunes.
