This debut album from singer-songwriter Shawn Stern weaves stories that swell with the hope of love and the heartache of loss using an alt-folk / alt-country style. The bluegrass underpinnings of lap steel and banjo mix brilliantly to provide context and depth while fingerpicked guitar and vocals tell the tales. More alt and folk than country, Shawn uses the whine and flow of a country sound to tell a more vivid story. This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
