In October, 1983, YMO made their shocking ""dispersal"" announcement. Two months later, Service, the penultimate studio album of their Alfa years, was released. Including the fan favorites ""Perspective"" and ""You’ve Got To Help Yourself,"" the group’s seventh album is a collaboration with Yuji Miyake’s celebrated theater troupe Super Eccentric Theater, whose skits are insperspersed between the songs, all written in collaboration with lyricist Peter Barakan.
Collector’s Vinyl Edition box set includes the album pressed on 2 LPs at 45 rpm, replica track sheets and studio ephemera, and a deluxe booklet with newly written liner notes and interviews.
