Although Scratchmaster Chuck T is not a household name, he nonetheless is an instrumental cog in the history of hip-hop music. His collaboration with Grandmaster Slice included the underground rap hit "Thinking of You," which led to Slice's being signed by Jive Records. Their album The Electric Slide (Shall We Dance) came out in 1991, which helped to popularize the electric slide dance. Chuck T is also known as Chuck Smooth and by his real name, Charles Fulp. In 1989, working with the underground funk label Creative Funk, he released the classic hip-hop single "Hit The Snooze" b/w "Scratchmaster." Both tracks feature a vocal version plus a bonus instrumental version. This rare classic has been newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
