A fixture of the post war St. Louis jazz scene and one of the finest clarinetists in classic Dixieland jazz, multi-instrumentalist Sammy Gardner formed the Mound City Six in the late 1950's and hosted his own St. Louis television show which ran for two years during the same period. This vintage album recorded in Los Angeles in 1958, showcases the great Mound City Six, featuring Sammy Gardner (clarinet and vocals); Muggsy Sprecher (cornet); Jim Haislip (trombone); Bob Dorner (piano); Wally Eckhardt (bass) and Chuck Kreigh (drums). Classic recording, newly remastered.
