Sam Carr is blues music royalty, plain and simple. He is the son of the legendary Robert Nighthawk and began his career in the Mississippi Delta along with his longtime partner Frank Frost backing his father before hooking up with the great Sonny Boy Williamson II (Rice Miller). This gave Sam and Frank the experience they needed to strike out on their own in the early 1960s. They recorded a string of great records for Sun/Phillips Jewel/Paula, Earwig, Appaloosa, Evidence and Hightone through the late 1990s. When Frank passed away, Sam formed the Delta Jukes. The lineup here is loose and the band features singer, guitarist, bassist Dave Riley. This is juke joint blues at it's finest.
