Singer, percussionist and flautist Dédé Saint-Prix has been the high priest of French Caribbean music for five decades. Born on Martinique Island, he popularized the folk music genre chouval bwa and took it to every continent, blending it with other rhythms from Africa, the Caribbean and the island of Reunion. A militant musician and teacher - he continues to pass on the tradition as well as being a wonderful entertainer - Dédé Saint-Prix has today become a genuine "living legend." Frémeaux & Associés, together with Anbalari Edysions and Couleurs Music Publishing, have joined forces to publish this 5 album retrospective of the musician's complete works, and this set focuses clearly on one of the greatest representatives of the Caribbean contribution to our musical heritage.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
