Cuban singer Ruben Rios was one of Havana's most popular entertainers of the late 1950's, performing regularly at the famed Tropicana and La Campana nightclubs. Although Rios performed quite frequently, very few recordings exist of this wonderful singer. Largely credited with inventing the style known as Pachanga, an offshoot of American Jive, Rios has been sadly overlooked in the history books mainly because he didn't continue to record once he immigrated to the US following the embargo of 1959. Recorded in Cuba in the late 1950's, this classic album remains a rare collector's item among Cuban music aficionados. All selections newly re-mastered.
