"R.F.I." marks the first collaboration between London-based drummer Andy Baxter (Robohands) and LA-based multi-instrumentalist Jack Barone-a psychedelic exploration into the ancient scales of the Middle East, shaped by the textures of classic recordings and the pulse of the modern era. Paying homage to the records' namesake Radio Frequency Interference, the B side includes an etching of imposing radio towers in the sky. The EP moves like a journey: beginning in stasis-stuck on a wall, locked in place-before slipping into the fluid motion of the desert, and finally dissolving into rest, as the final notes bend you into the ground.Featuring guitar, bass, synth, and drums, R.F.I. is brought to life by a full analog palette-warm, saturated, and alive. Trumpeter Cesar Apolinar Hernandez and vocalist Alya Olcan lend their voices to tracks A1 and A2, adding new layers to the sonic terrain. R.F.I. utilizes 100% analog instrumentation. It is warm. It is saturated. It is full. It is old and new.
