Cuban pianist Roberto Lozano was a close associate of the famed Cuban arranger and pioneer of Latin Jazz, Julio Gutierrez. Lozano migrated to Miami following the Cuban embargo of 1959 and became well respected among musicians for his amazing piano playing and arranging skills. Although his name may not be well known, he became a highly sought after arranger, arranging sessions for Cuban jazz musicians in Miami which led to many successful trips to New York during the 60's where he became a session pianist and arranged music for full orchestras. This rare album, recorded in Miami in the mid - 1960's, features Lozano's amazing skill at the piano as he interprets the music of the legendary Mexican composer and poet, Agustin Lara. All selections newly remastered.
