Metallica’s Reload was released on November 18, 1997, through Elektra Records. Produced by Bob Rock, the album continued the hard rock and blues-infused style of Load, featuring a more experimental and groove-heavy approach. Featuring tracks like "Fuel," "The Memory Remains," "The Unforgiven II," and "Devil’s Dance," Reload further showcased Metallica’s evolution beyond their thrash roots. The cover art, titled Piss and Blood XXVI, was created by Andres Serrano and features a mixture of bovine blood and urine pressed between plexiglass, maintaining the provocative aesthetic introduced with Load.
