The great jazz arranger/composer and be-bop pianist Ralph Burns' classic 1955 audiophile album Spring Sequence, is one of a handful of rare solo albums that Burns recorded in the 1950's, a period he worked in both the jazz and classical realms. By the 1960's Burns was in high demand composing for Broadway shows and later much film work came his way, as he composed scores for the likes of Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese among many others. Accompanying Ralph's fine piano work on this vintage album are Jimmy Raney (guitar), Clyde Lombardi (bass) and Ossie Johnson (drums). All selections newly re-mastered.
