Classically trained at the Conservatoire d'Avignon, pianist Patrick Favre developed a passion for jazz. He began his professional career in 1989, performing with bassist Louis Petrucciani and saxophonist Charles Tyler. In 1995, he worked with clarinetist Perry Robinson and appeared on his recording Movement. Favre settled on the trio lineup, offering a 2003 album entitled Dance nomadic and a 2010 release on Fremeaux entitled Humanidade. His latest release, Origins, features a lineup of bassist Gildas Bocle, drummer Karl Jannuska and guitarist Pierre Perchaud. With a selection of nine originals, Favre tells the story of his life in a kind of musical fresco. Each track explores moments in his life, looking at them like snapshots that are kept secretly inside a drawer.
