Originally formed in 1942, the legendary Brazilian vocal group Os Cariocas became one of the most influential voices of bossa nova. This edition presents their iconic 1962 album A Bossa dos Cariocas in it's entirety, enhanced with eight superb bonus tracks that highlight their trademark blend of rich vocal harmonies and bossa nova's elegant syncopations. Among the highlights is the historical recording of "Chega de Saudade" featuring Joao Gilberto on guitar. A must-have release for any serious collector of Brazilian jazz and bossa nova.
