The New York Woodwind Quintet, the world's premiere Woodwind Quintet, has maintained an active schedule in the US and abroad for over 60 years. Presented here are some of the quintet's earliest recordings featuring the original stellar lineup of Frank Glazer (piano); Samuel Baron (flute); Jerome Roth (oboe); David Glazer (clarinet); Arthur Weisberg (bassoon) and John Barrows (horn), performing Francis Poulenc's Sextet for piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn; and Wallingford Riegger's Concerto for piano and woodwind quintet, Op. 53. All selections newly remastered.
