Born out of the Bay Area's fertile intersection of country and psychedelia, the New Riders were practically the Grateful Dead's house band during the early touring years, with Jerry Garcia on pedal steel helping define their sound before the group fully stepped into its own identity. This London set from November 1972 captures them at peak confidence, road-hardened and loose, delivering the kind of cosmic country that made them one of the era's most beloved live acts.
