John Carroll Kirby is based in Los Angeles and has arranged, produced and played on records by artists as diverse as Solange, Moses Sumney, Connan Mockasin, Yellow Days and Mark Ronson. His status was cemented through co-producing Solange’s seminal albums "A Seat at the Table” and "When I Get Home", and collaborations with Frank Ocean, Blood Orange, Moses Sumney, Sébastien Tellier.
Mentored by jazz bassist John Clayton, a protege of Ray Brown and Quincy Jones, Kirby has previously released solo albums “Travel" (2017) and "Meditations in Music” (2018), which prove his vision to be expansive, leaving little to wonder why well-respected artists have sought his collaboration.
