Perhaps the greatest exponent of country blues finger style guitar, Mississippi John Hurt stands as one of the most important blues musicians of the 20th century, with a career that began in the 1920s and by the 1940s was nearly forgotten until he was rediscovered in 1963 with his amazing music prowess still intact. He inspired a new generation of folk musicians and his importance cannot be overstated.
