Originally released in 1976, the self titled album by the 9 piece soul/funk outfit Main Street was recorded in Albuquerque, New Mexico and produced by John Wagner; a producer known for his forays into the world of funk and his band the John Wagner Coalition which was popular in New Mexico in the mid-1970's. Main Street features Janis Russell on lead vocals with Stephen Miller (vocals; guitar); Mike Weatherly (bass); Mike Maddux (keyboards); Ralph Gonzales (drums); Rich Oppenheim (saxophone); Robert Seely (trumpet); Richard Davies (trombone) and Jose Jimenez (congas).
