Mark Alban Lotz plays jazz flute, and his band, Lotz of Music is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This is the first North American release of his music. His records have been released in Europe and Japan and have included work with musicians in Cuba, and Mark has also created some very Avant-garde music fusing jazz, funk, rap, classical and ambient sounds. This CD was recorded at the "Pumpkin Lounge" in Amsterdam and features original compositions and some very interesting takes on modern jazz standards such as Sonny Rollins' "Oleo" and Ornette Coleman's "Blues Connotations." Also included is Bob Dylan's "Every Grain of Sand."d."
