Songwriter Ryan Pollie, under the moniker Los Angeles Police Department will be releasing a new album on Anti Records on April 29, 2017 . The L.A.-based Pollie makes the kind of homespun bedroom pop that excels in its quiet intimacy, while retaining its emotional weight under sparse instrumentation and soft delivery. Pollie released his self-titled debut in 2014 with much critical praise from Pitchfork, The Fader, Impose, Stereogum, and others. In his work as Los Angeles Police Department, Pollie sings of love and its pitfalls. But no matter how anxious the content of his material reads it always sounds tender and composed, unlike what Pollie’s moniker might suggest. "The band name is the juxtaposition of something cold, sterile, and bureaucratic with the most personal and emotional part of my life,” Pollie explains.
