Recorded in Seoul in 2006 at the Seoul Free Music Festival. There is a genre of Korean music called Pansori, a kind of folk opera that involves a singer and percussionist. It alternates spoken narrative with songs and it's performances can last for hours. Here the drama of Pansori is echoed in the spontaneous songs and vocal/percussion episodes of the two performers and their improvisations elicit performances that belong equally to East and West. Lauren Newton - voice and Park Je Chun - percussion.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
