Jean Munsi diki alias Kwamy la sintula le n'gansie was born on 27/11/1939 in Kingambwa village in the commune of limete Kinshasa of father mumbala (Jean kabambala) and mother Muteke (Henriette Ngalie Mbuleme). Orphaned at the age of 2, he was raised by his uncles Joseph Lingele and Salomon Diki. After his secondary education, although he obtained a teacher's diploma, Jean Munsi preferred to opt for music which was his passion. From a very young age, he already frequented the celebrities of the time such as Franco Luambo, Mujos Mulamba, and Rochereau Tabu who were also his friends. He started his music career as a singer in orchestras in his adopted commune of Nairi Ngiri and later joined the African Jazz of Grand Kalle Kabasele, which he later left.
