This American-Japanese unit was formed in 1984 by ace bassist Kiyoto Fujiwara and featured Kenny Garrett on alto and Peter Madsen on piano together with the drums of Shunsuke Fuke. This was the last of Masahiko Yuh's recordings for his Why Not label and was made in New Jersey in 1987. The New Work based combo was very successful and toured the world for several years in the 80's. There is outstanding playing all round by the by now tightly knit band. The emerging Kenny Garett's fluent expressive playing finds him at his most impressive and likewise pianist Peter Madsen and Fujiwara are in great form and together with Fuke they make this a truly memorable collection of standards and originals.
