Keith Relf’s Shapes In My Mind continues the celebration of The Yardbirds’ 60th anniversary with this beautifully reissued 7" vinyl single. Originally recorded in 1966 as a follow-up to his debut solo single Mr. Zero, this track showcases Relf’s vocal depth, leaning into a sound reminiscent of Scott Walker. Recorded in California, the session features an impressive lineup, including Yardbirds bandmate Jimmy Page and legendary session musicians Hal Blaine (drums), Joe Osborne (bass), and Larry Knechtel (keys).

The B-side, “Blue Sands,” is a rare instrumental originally credited to The Yardbirds but performed by Columbia label-mates The Outsiders. Newly restored and remastered for this release, it adds a fascinating curio to this collector's gem. Both tracks have been mastered by Phil Kinrade and cut by Jasper Ward at AIR Mastering.
