Jon Hendricks one of the greatest jazz singers of all time as well as one of the originators of vocalese style in a declared tribute to the unique art of Joao Gilberto. Hendricks's inspired rendition of Gilberto's sophisticated repertoire shows love and devotion for the Brazilian tradition through a series of accurate and faithful arrangements. Needless to add that Hendricks's hyper smooth singing is perfectly baked by a hi-class line-up featuring among others: Pete and Conte Candoli (trumpets), Buddy Colette (flute), and Laurindo Almeida (guitar). In one word: superb!
