Best known for his tenure with the Kingston Trio from 1961 to 1967, and writing "Daydream Believer" for The Monkees, in his younger days, vocalist John Stewart formed a band called Johnny Stewart and the Furies that played Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Buddy Holly covers, and even recorded the now rare single featured here. Originally released in 1957 on the Southern California based Vita Records label, "Rockin' Anna" b/w "Lorraine" features an acoustic guitar driven rocker on side "A" and an early glimpse into what would become the folk-rock sound of the 1960s on the flip side in the Caribbean flavored "Lorraine." This ultra rare single is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
