Known as Johnny Parker & The Zirkons on their lone release for CT Records the group changed it's name to Johnny (Bird) Parker & The Fabulous Circons for the 1962 popcorn soul single featured here. A great example of the pop sounds of the early 1960s expanding on the rhythm and blues sounds of the 1950s to create something entirely new, "For Goodness Sake" b/w "Beach Time U.S.A" features Parker's impassioned saxophone and vocal work leading a rockin' band, and even adds a catchy Bo Diddley rhythm on the flip side. This rare, early 1960s gem was originally released on the New York based Fargo Records subsidiary Wells Records label and is presented here newly remastered and fnally made available in the digital domain.
