This is a session originally issued on cornet player Jim Cullum's own American Jazz label, which Jazzology purchased a number of years ago. It's an example of the early years of Cullum's career when his band was known as Jim Cullum's Happy Jazz Band. His father, Jim Sr. (who was an important jazz artist long before Jim Jr.. became musically active) plays clarinet on this session, which includes some of Jim Jr.'s earliest recordings. Features Gene McKinney, Cliff Gillette, Ben Valfre, Wilson Davis and Harvey Kindervater.
