Regarded as one of several standouts from the Jerry Garcia Band's landmark Fall '91 tour, this stop in Hampton, Virginia is certainly worthy of its lore. In addition to all the hallmarks of a quintessential latter-era JGB performance, this night featured a very special guest: Virginia's own Bruce Hornsby, joining on electric piano for the first and only time.

Featuring Jerry Garcia on guitar and vocals, Melvin Seals on keyboards, John Kahn on bass, David Kemper on drums, and Gloria Jones and Jaclyn LaBranch on backing vocals. The setlist is well-balanced throughout — mixing road-tested staples like "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" with more recent additions like Van Morrison's "Bright Side of the Road" and a closing "What A Wonderful World." Playing with Hornsby always seemed to ignite a spark in Garcia, and this proved no exception — their potent chemistry fueling lively versions of "Ain't No Bread in the Breadbox," "You Never Can Tell (C'est La Vie)," and a sprawling "Midnight Moonlight."
