His first album, The Alcatraz Kid, released in 2006, resulted in Messersmith being named the "premier under-30 songwriter in the Twin Cities" by City Pages. He has opened for President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden on separate occasions.

This is a very good CD. I enjoy listing to music from the 50's 60's 70' and the 80's.
The CD is very good. I enjoy listing to music from the time I was growing up and while I was in the Air Force.
