Jamie Cullum's Pointless Nostalgic album was a worldwide hit when it was released in 2002 and Jamie is now recognised as one of the top stars in the jazz/mainstream scene. An integral part of his success was his association with Geoff Gascoyne and Sebastiaan de Krom - his long time rhythm partners. Now this Candid Vignette turns the spotlight on this association by showcasing the input of composer/arranger Gascoyne alongside the impeccable drumming of de Krom. As well as highlighting these skills throughout, this set also features two classic tracks which Cullum recorded with Geoff Gascoyne's band. Brian Wilson's famous God Only Knows, and Love Won't Let Me Wait, the soul classic written and recorded by Major Harris slot seamlessly into this set and the mood is immeasurably enhanced by Gascoyne's skillful string arranging. Another highlight is a guest track by Bob Dorough with whom Jamie and Geoff have struck up a close relationship despite the 50 year age gap.
