James Hazelden - New York [CD]

New York is the first single from James Hazelden's debut album, 'The Man Who Broke His Own Heart'. It is a catchy, upbeat song about how international time differences can really mess up a relationship. It appears here with two rare B-sides that are not available anywhere else. Tender is the Night (The Long Fidelity) is a cover of a gorgeous song by The Triffids. It features Rob McComb from The Triffids on guest vocals and violin. The song is an angsty soundscape of cellos and violins and is about the kind of jaded, realistic love you'd find in a bar at 2am. Hey There Mr Cockroach is a strange little song about a man who envies the life of a cockroach. It is a little bit Kafka and a little bit soaring piano ballad. James Hazelden has toured Australia, North America and Europe with a variety of bands for the last decade. He has performed with The Triffids at the ARIA Hall of Fame Awards and their subsequent show at the Melbourne Concert Hall, toured Queensland with Circus Oz, toured Canada with folk musician Chloe Hall, and the UK supporting comedian Tony Law. Recently he premiered his debut troubadour-style solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show was a great success and James was called: "**** - entertaining, hilarious, and charismatic ...
