Accompanied only by his guitar, the newcomer to Paris delivered, with the confidence of a future star, his first compositions, including the song Quand on n'a que l'amour, captured here several months before the studio recording that would be released as a 45 rpm.A real gem! In July 1965, at the height of his career, Jacques Brel recorded a jam session at the Maison de la Radio, during which he gave us a deeply moving version of Amsterdam, accompanied only by Gérard Jouannest on piano and Pierre Sim on double bass.The B-side features a live recital recorded for the show "Discoparade" at the Alhambra in 1962, where the artist-now far from his intimate beginnings-is accompanied by a piano and a string ensemble.
